The LSO is a community orchestra of Longmont, Colorado, in its 30th season. The LSO's conductor and artistic director is Dr. Robert Olson and he is assisted by associate conductor Brian St. John.

The Longmont Symphony 1998 concert program is as follows:

• April 18, 1998, 7:30 p.m.

  The Italian Connection
  Mario Carbotta, Flute
  Pieralberto Cattaneo, guest conductor,
  Donizetti, Mozart, and Brahms.

• May 16, 1998, 7:30 p.m.

  "On Broadway" music of Andrew Lloyd Weber and others.
  Local vocalists with the hits from Cats, Phantom, etc.

• July 4th, 1998

  Patriotic Concert in Thompson Park, 4th and Bross Sts, Longmont.

• September 11 and 12

  Oktoberfest
  Voted best celebration in Longmont.
  5 famous regional bands
  All Entertainment FREE
  Beverages and food available
  6th Avenue Plaza at Maint St.
  Friday, 5 to 9:30 p.m.
  Saturday, noon to 9:30 p.m.

The Longmont Symphony performs a free Concert-In-The-Park on July 4th every year. The LSO also sponsors Longmont's Oktoberfest weekend in late September every year. Oktoberfest features a street fair of local artists, as well as German food, music, and entertainment.
